FAQ
FAQ
1) Is this course recognized by Early Childhood Development Agency (SG)?
Yes it is. We are one of the training providers under the Early Intervention Roadmap.
2) Can this method be used in the classroom with normal children?
Absolutely. Our belief is that if Orton-Gillingham which is multisensory and systematic works to teach dyslexics who struggle with reading and writing, how much better would it be for kids who do not have this disability.
You will be seeing the children reading and writing faster than ever, picking up the skills which are fundamental to literacy.
3) Do I need to change my curriculum?
There is no need to change your curriculum. OG is a way of teaching literacy skills. It can easily be incorporated into your existing curriculum. Do consult our trainers on how this can be done. However, OG can be used as part of your literacy curriculum if you are looking for a structured phonics program that allows you to track progress of students.
4) Do I need to use it for the whole class or can I choose to work only with a selected group of students?
OG can be used for all 3 tiers in the RTI model. Whether you use it in the classroom or in small groups or with individuals, it is equally effective.
5) Will I receive a certificate?
You will receive a certificate of completion.
6) Why can’t I sign up for the 6 Advanced modules despite my teaching experience?
Participants are required to attend the Multisensory Approach to Literacy workshop as a prerequisite. They will learn the foundation of the Orton-Gillingham Approach at the workshop, and the skills will be built upon in the advance modules.
